selling-frequent-flyer-miles

Even frequent flyer miles have been part of the mainstream traveling world for years; however, there have been taboo surrounding selling frequent flyer miles. With so many myths swirling around this topic people are scared to talk about it or take action when it’s time to sell frequent flyer miles. We’re going to remove the entire stigma regarding the subject and create an openness that is much needed in the industry. By the end of the article, all your doubts regarding selling airline miles will be removed, and you might finally make some extra dough this year (other than pizza and bread).

1. Airlines Stance On Selling Frequent Flyer Miles

It’s common knowledge that airlines are not keen on their loyalty members selling their miles. The terms and conditions do state that selling frequent flyer miles is not allowed. Airlines consider frequent flyer miles their property, and they entrust those points to their members.

At the end of the day, loyalty members do sell their miles to make some extra cash. Are they considered badly for against the airline’s policy and selling their miles? Well, to be honest, if there is nothing wrong with selling them if they’re wasting away in the account. According to research, 25% of Americans don’t use their frequent flyer miles and they let them expire. So rather than letting them expire, why not do someone else a favor and sell frequent flyer miles? By someone else we don’t mean the mileage brokers, it’s the loyalty member who desperately wants a reward seat. You may then argue that it’s against airline policy. Well, go on and read the next point.

No legal action is taken against anyone who sells their miles, so you’re within the boundaries of the law when you sell frequent flyer miles.

3. It’s Not Safe
