Is It Worth It To Sell Your Wells Fargo Points?

May 9, 2018

Sell-Your-Wells-Fargo-Points

Wells Fargo isn’t the most popular reward program out there; however, it still has some great benefits which are adored by its users. The easiest ways to earn Well Fargo points is to buy things online through the issuer’s portal, which is called the Earn More Mall. With just a press of a button, you could be earning extra reward with every item you buy. Earning Wells Fargo points is easy, but is the card worth it from the redemption standpoint? Some credit card holders recommend that you sell your Wells Fargo points, but we decided to take a step back and give an unbiased assessment of its redemption value.

1. The Good Redemption Options For Wells Fargo Points

One of the best ways to redeem these points is through travel. When you redeem Well Fargo points by booking traveling, you’ll earn one cent per point. Another great option is to use your Wells Fargo points to buy a gift card or a statement credit, which will again give you a value of one cent per mile.

Wells Fargo points are popular with travel enthusiasts who are obsessed with using their points towards traveling. Not only does it save them money, but in return, they earn more points when using the card for booking travel.

2. The Not So Great Redemption Options

The value of your redemptions varies quite a bit, but at the end of the day, it only goes high as about half a cent per point. Saving up your hard earned points and then later redeeming them for a more expensive item appears to achieve a higher value per point rather than redeeming them for smaller, much cheaper items.

Using your Wells Fargo points for digital rewards such as purchasing music online, or buying an audiobook will yield a value of half a cent per mile. As a result, we think it’s better that you cash in your points for statement credit or sell your reward points, than using those points to purchase the digital items you’re interested in.

3. Important Things That Get Blurred In the Fine Print

You’ll be happy to know that the Wells Fargo Propel 365 American Express Card and Wells Fargo Propel World American Express, there’s no limit to the points that can be earned and nor do they ever expire. However, Wells Fargo Rewards Visa points do expire after a certain time period, which is at the end of the 60th month from the time they were first posted to your account.

A fair warning is clearly stated by the credit company that those who pay late will be penalized by having their account (and rewards) suspended. The points can’t be redeemed or transferred until you get current. If you close your account you’ll lose all your unredeemed rewards along with the account.
